I ran 15 miles to the Mount Diablo summit with Iron Horse Run Club.
The route was challenging from the beginning. We followed dusty fire roads, wooded trails, and long climbs that kept asking for more effort. Running it with the club made every hard section better.
Climbing Above the Clouds
The scenery changed as we climbed. We moved from shaded trails and morning fog to golden hills, open views, and a clear blue sky above the clouds.
The weather was beautiful, and every turn offered another view of Mount Diablo. It was the kind of day that made the difficult route worth it.
Reaching the Summit
At the summit, we stopped together above the clouds and took in the view. The full route covered 15 miles, with plenty of climbing and a challenging return.
It was a hard run, a beautiful day, and another great memory with my running club.
